Red Deer Polytechnic
This is an awesome option for the WCOCs. You are on the map for the WCOC Sprint on Monday and only an hour away from the Middle and Long locations.
- You are only allowed to stay in the specific accommodation pre-booked at campus due to the sprint embargo. You will have to keep to the strict embargo rules and not drive or walk through / around campus ground while you are staying here. (Details will follow in bulletins.)

Strathcona Wilderness Centre Accommodation
Ideally located for the Edmonton area events, the organizers have reserved a group campsite, some rustic bunkhouses and bunk rooms in the lodge. This is also the location of the HPP fundraiser event and the Sass Peepre skill development camp. The centre is a half hour drive from the Sprint, Middle and Long distance events, 10 minutes from the Model and 12 minutes from the banquet. This low cost accommodation provides a great opportunity for socialising with other orienteers. Extra facilities at the centre include about 20 km of forest walking trails, a frisbee golf course and outdoor fitness equipment. The area is good for wildlife viewing, moose are seen frequently. Pets are not allowed at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre. Check out the website .
Lodge Accommodation
Lodge accommodation is available for Friday and Saturday nights, August 22 and 23. Of the 41 beds in the lodge, there are only a few spaces remaining as many have been taken by the skills camp participants. Lodge details. The cost of the two nights accommodation is $60.
Rustic Bunkhouse Accommodation
The bunk houses each have 8 bunks without mattresses. There are nearby outhouses and cook shelter. Some of the lodge facilities would be available. The bunkhouses are 325 m from the parking and 600 m from the lodge. The cost is $25 for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday) or $35 if Thursday night is also requested.
Group campsite
The campsite is a walk-in rustic site 550 m from the parking and 850 m from the lodge. It has pit toilets. The cost for all 3 nights is $25 per person or for 2 nights, $20.
